Es el reverso extraterrestre de Louis Armstrong, el reflejo alucinado del trompetista en el siglo XXI. ¡Vuelve 'P.E. El Extraterrestre', vuelve Peter Evans que, junto al pianista Cory Smythe, revoluciona la sesión de grabación de Weather Bird que Amstrong mantuvo en 1928 con Earl Hines.
Dos propuestas desde la escena de Berlín:
El saxofonista Philipp Gropper lidera el cuarteto Philm, con el que grabó Live at Bimhuis. La formación la completan Elias Stemeseder (piano y sintetizador), Robert Landfermann (contrabajo) y Oliver Steidle (batería).
Por su parte, el también saxofonista, Wanja Slavin presenta Salvation con sus Lotus Eaters. Tres formaciones diferentes para un mismo disco en el que participan músicos como el trompetista británico Tom Arthurs y el baterista Nasheet Waits, entre otros.
Nos los anticipó la propia Mary Halvorson hace unas semanas en el programa y en esta edición del Club podemos escucharlos: Ours y Theirs son las dos propuestas simultáneas del trío Thumbscrew, que la guitarrista comparte con Michael Formanek (contrabajo) y Tomas Fujiwara (batería). Un disco es de temas originales, el otro de versiones.
