de Jazz dedicated to Savina
Yannatou and Barry Guy together with a lengthy interview
to introduce their first recording
together,
Attikos, a live
performance at the Bimhuis (Amsterdam).
Savina Yanatou (Athens, 1959) is one of
the most creatives greek singers who has collaborated with musicians like Peter
Kowald, Floros Floridis or Ken
Vandermark and she usually plays with
the group
Primavera in Salonico.
Barry Guy (London, 1947) is the founder
of the London Jazz Composers Orchestra
and the Barry Guy New Orchestra. He is
a referencial name of free improvised
music in Europe. He has played with Evan
Parker, Mats Gustafsson, Agustí
Fernández and so many others. Along with
his
wife, the violin player Maya Homburger,
is the owner of Maya Recordings, the
label which has edited Attikos.
